Viking Valknut Style Tortoise Brooches

Tortoise brooch sets are used on Viking women's apron dresses. These brooch sets were sometimes adorned with bead strings or chain. They are still considered an important part of Viking women's garb in the SCA, Dagorhir, at RenFaires and any other events and societies that Norse women attend.
 
This design can be made in a mirrored pair of 3" x 2" ovals for Viking style tortoise brooches or a single piece. 
 
They can be etched in light weight 20 gauge Brass, Copper or Nickel sheet. They come with a beefy 10 gauge pin soldered to the back. This makes them strong but not heavy, like some of the cast brooches. They are fully domed pieces hand formed in a block of oak I carved myself. They will be polished nicely before shipping!
